Getting Bonded in Canada

Why get bonded for your business? If you are going to be entering people's homes as part of your business, you should be bonded. Examples of businesses where you should be bonded include housecleaning and pet or house sitting, both which require you to be in a client's house when they are not neccessarily home. This is especially true if you have access to a client's security code, house key, or a garage door opener, for example.

When you are bonded, it will protect you the the event something is missing or broken during the time frame you are in the client's house (even if you are not the guilty party).

Where can you get bonded? First, check with your local insurance agency. Many insurance agencies offering bonding as part of their many services. If the agency you deal with does not do this, you will need to phone other ones in your area to find one.
