It is surprisingly difficult
to write an effecive resume, particularly for those who have little or
no experience doing it. A one-size fits all is not suitable for all jobs.
This is where you come in.
You can tailor each resume
for each specific job, and even write a suitable cover letter. Often,
this type of business requires quick turn-around, particularly when your
client has a specific job in mind. You can also offer a "job hunters"
package which offers a series of tailored resumes during a set time frame
(i.e. over three months period) for those who are actively looking for
a job. This can be lucrative for you, since you already have the resume
data - you just have to make any necessary changes for each job your client
is applying for.
You can send the resume to
your client via attachment, or you can print it out and sent it to your
client yourself. If you do the latter, it is best to have a laser printer
(even inexpensive laser printers start at about $200). The print quality
of laser printers is far superior to the usual bubble or inkjet printers.
You can easily add other writing
related businesses to this one such as desktop publishing or writing services.
