Knowing
your company's story and history
Do you know why your company
started? If not, find out why, because it can be not only a compelling
story, but also tell a lot about the company's ethics and business nature.
The story behind your party
plan company is one you should know well and be able to tell off the top
of your head. Why? It often conveys the passion behind the start of the
business and can translate into passion for potential recruits.
Here are some things you should
find out, if you don't already know. There could be a very sellable story
behind it that could lead to people choosing your business over another,
simply because they feel better about the company's roots.
- Who runs the company, and
what experience does he or she have?
- Why was the company started?
They are often started to fill a market unavailable elsewhere.
- Where in the US (or in the
world) did the company originate?
- How are new products selected?
Often, when you know the company
story well, it will result in really being able to tell potential recruits
what the company is all about and also say alot about their business ethics
and where the company might be going in the future.
If you don't know much about
the origins of the company you joined and where it got its roots, ask
your upline, and if he or she doesn't know, contact your head office for
information. Some companies even have DVDs or videos that details the
history of their business, which you can then turn into a great recruiting
tool as well.
