"Free Makeovers" to avoid being taken advantage of
If you are a consultant with
a make-up or beauty company, offering "Free makeovers" is an
excellent way to generate a new customer base. Of course, there are always
those who are more than willing to take advantage of that crucial word
"Free", meaning that you can lose out on customer purchases
because they want a professional makeup job before a big night out.
Think about when you are scheduling
makeovers. Avoid doing any on Friday or Saturday afternoons. These are
the top two times when you are least likely to convert those free makeovers
into sales, whether the person ends up buying nothing or a single, inexpensive
"token purchase". This is especially true for younger potential
customers, those still in the "going out to a club" phase.
If you need to book weekends,
go for Saturday mornings or Sundays instead.
Because makeup will stay less
"fresh" over the course of the day, you increase the likelihood
of sales by those who will want to touch up their new look before going
out at night.
This tip works especially well
for companies such as Avon, Arbonne and Mary Kay, which tends to do a
lot of "free makeover" promos as a tool for selling more products.
