What
is Pay Per Click (PPC)?
Pay per click (PPC) is a method
used by many search engine marketers to drive traffic to a site. They
use PPC to either get more exposure to a top ranking site, or to get that
all important exposure for sites that aren't yet ranking at the top for
the key word phrases.
When you search for search
terms in Google or Yahoo, for instance, you may notice the sponsored listings
that appear right above the regular search results, as well as down the
right hand side. Those are pay per click listings, and those advertisers
pay everytime someone clicks on their ad (so don't click if you are doing
research!).
