Do I Upload My Website to the World Wide Web?
There are many ways to upload
your website to the internet. Some web design programs have built-in features
that allow you to upload. If you are using FrontPage for your site, you
will need to ensure that your host has FrontPage
extensions installed.
If your design program doesn't
have a built-in uploading feature, the most popular way to get your files
online is by using an FTP program.
When your hosting account was
set up by your web host, you should have been provided with an FTP account,
with instructions on how to connect to it, including the FTP username
and password.
The two most popular programs
to use are WS_FTP
and CuteFTP. Using
either, you can connect to your hosting account and then upload or drag
and drop the files, putting them live on the internet instantly.
For advanced users, you can
also upload files using SSH.
