Virtual Hosting Right For My Host Account?
For most sites, virtual hosting
is the right choice. Virtual hosting means that your site is located on
a certain server, and there are also other websites hosted on the same
server.
The next step up from a virtual
hosting account is moving to a dedicated server, which means your site
(or several of your own sites) has dedicated use of the server. No other
sites (other than the ones you authorize) will be located on the same
server.
Virtual hosting is the least
expensive option, and is designed for small and medium sized sites. However,
large sites and sites with many large download files are better suited
to a dedicated server.
